Seeing all the tall ships off of Galveston, one can imagine what the scene was like a hundred, two hundred years ago when those same tall ships plied their trade between the islands of the Caribbean, Mexico, and the U.S. Sometimes I feel I was born a couple hundred years too late.
"... Yes, I am a pirate, two hundred years too late.
The cannons don't thunder, there's nothin' to plunder,
I'm an over-seventy victim of fate.
Arriving too late, arriving too late ..."
