Here's Stats-Can figures for 2020. Take note of the fact that between Jan 18th & March 14 the total number of deaths were 1920 LESS than anticipated for a normal year. Then from April to June is when we see the upwards curve but bear in mind that this is the time period where hospitals were closed to so-called non-essential treatments leaving many to die from untreated and/or undiagnosed ailments while thousands living in care homes were neglected to the point of dying by a staff too fearful to carry out their duties. In mid-June the number of deaths once again dropped to below the expected rate for a normal year and from the end of June onwards the numbers fluctuated, never really reaching levels worthy of concern since fluctuations are to be expected.
