Diamond Walking - both ACLs torn (5-11-2022)
She tore her first ACL/CCL on Oct 22nd, 2021 and the second one on April 19th, 2022. Here she is 3 weeks later from second tear.
Diamond's first day for therapy in our new pool (5-12-2022)
We stayed in about 10 minutes. She sure hates the water but...she has to do it. This will help her to rebuild those muscles and heal her injuries. Both ACLs were torn within 6 months of one another.
Well she did it again. SIGH. Now its the other leg and this isnt good. She tore her other ACL. In a month we hit the pool for water therapy.

View MoreWell BAD NEWS for Diamond. 2 weeks ago, she went out to pee and within a few minutes came crawling back in through the doggie door limping on her left back leg. First thought..she tore her ACL..DAMN! well I treated her that night with everything I had..and I have alot... Used ice pack, tons of supplements and the next day I did give her a pain pill because she was just trying to walk way too much and was pushing it. She went to sleep on the pain meds. She was knuckling her foot under her. So my other thought was....could be neurological. So I decided to watch her close and I really did a thorough check over that leg. I didn't see anything. It appeared that possibly she had slight swelling in her knee. So I focused on that. I treated her as if it was an ACL tear for 2 weeks. I took her in yesterday and vet said I was right..it is an ACL tear. Although he also thought at first possibly neurological to due to her foot under her. I determined she is doing that to balance herself and not put her leg straight out to the floor. BAD NEWS is..its a full tear. Normally from what I have read...full tears-- they cant walk on that leg but she is. BUT vet said full tear. The femur is out of place causing it to slide backwards. Full tears on a large dog require surgery in most cases. BUT Diamond cant be put under anesthesia. Also she has a malignant tumor on her tummy and she has had it for nearly 2 yrs.(We are treating that now as well). Its slow growing. She also has high heart numbers on the ProBNP test. ZERO symptoms. She's been this way for yrs. From the tests numbers..she should be dead. She's doing great on that. She is on heart supplements..no meds. So of course..vets never give positive hope. He didn't with Sydney either and she lasted another 5 yrs. NEVER go by what your vet thinks. You know your pets, you determine what's best. With that said..here we are again...not my first rodeo...so I will be working with her for the next 6 months on getting her back walking better..hopefully much better. She does have severe spondylosis in which has been being managed by Adequan injections and it has given her a pain free life for the last 10 yrs. The last 2-3 months she seemed slower getting up and her gait changed slightly so I moved her to a bed on the floor next to my bed because it was getting harder for her to climb the stairs to get on the bed. (Sydney's old spot). It was a very wise move since we are were we are now. Anyway, I added in Ostinol 350 and that has seemed to help. This might be why her ACL tore due to change in gait. So I am using a laser light on her, massage, chiropractic, tons of supplements and a leg brace during this time. I will have her rest that leg for 2 more weeks then we will start P.R.O.M. exercises. I will continue therapy at home. Diamond is 13 yrs old but we will get through this like we did with Sydney before with her ACL tear. Diamond is my HEART dog so when her time comes to leave this Earth, it will devastate me. God I hope it isn't anytime soon. I lost 2 last yr..not ready for another. Say a prayer for my girl.. I love her so much.

I have been watching her close. I have now moved her off of my bed..in which she had to climb stairs to get on the bed...now to the floor on an orthopedic doggie bed (Sydneys old bed) next to my bed. She's not happy about being on the floor but..she is struggling to get on the bed. So now...today..I ordered her Ostinol 350 and we will see if that helps her. It takes about 2 weeks to kick in once I get it. Diamond has been doing wonderful her whole life once we got the spondylosis under control using Adequan. She still gets Adequan but I knew this day would come where Adequan may not be sufficient enough. So prayers are requested for my beautiful BFF. She's my heart dog and the day I lose her will be absolutely devastating. I am NOT ready for that as I lost 2 already last yr. so please pray for my Diamond that she will pull out of this.

I love this girl. She's such a funny and entertaining girl. I hope we make it to 14 yrs old. In 2013 I had a vet tell me to put her down...because she has severe spondylosis. AT THE TIME, she was on 4 different pain meds and barely knocking the edge off. FINALLY I found her miracle. Its called Adequan. She has not taken pain meds since and is doing great. You would never know she had any issues at all. Vets suck sometimes. Only good for emergencies or diagnostic. Remember that. This girl is a miracle because I didn't give up on her nor think vets are the ones to call the shots. Some vets are heartless. Anyway this is my miracle girl and I love her so much. Happy Birthday miss Diamond. She got organic cake too. YUM! That icing was tasty. hehe
